The Funk Vector shares its unusual looks and an unusual design with The Funk. Here at Needles & Spins we have been very impressed with standard Funk and the Funk Vector takes it a level higher. The plinth is a very eye catching shape and carries an innovative platter made from expanded polyvinyl, a foamed vinyl known as the achroplat. The platter is purposely designed to form a 100% mechanical impedance match with your vinyl records, thus eliminating one of the issues which plagues traditional platters and turntable mats.
What makes The Funk Vector unique is its triple pulleyed bearing arrangement known as the Vector Drive. In contrast to traditional designs, which have a single pulley, the Vector has three pulleys arranged around the bearing spindle. This means that the bearing and platter are continually kept level rather than being pulled off centre by the motor pulley as in traditional designs.
The Funk VectorTurntable has switchable speed via a knob on one of the feet of the plinth. The plinth is cut to take any arm with a standard Rega fit and this includes arms from Rega, Origin Live, Hadcock, Roksan and others*. The feet have sorbothane inserts to aid isolation. The bearing is an inverted highly polished sapphire tipped bearing
The standard of vinyl replay for the price from this turntable is truly outstanding. Its Dynamic, detailed, fast, accurate ... and its very funky. The finish is a striking, deep, metallic red.
