It connects to your PC via the USB port and needs no installation as your PC will automatically detect it and install itself In order to digitise your vinyl for use with iPods and MP3 players, or to burn to CD for use in your car, you need to have the right equipment and software. This bundle includes everything you need to perform vinyl to digital transfers at maximum quality including all cables and software (apart from the computer). To transfer vinyl to digital files on a PC or Mac for use on a portable digital player or to transfer to CD you need: -
a Turntable with cartridge -
-
a Soundcard with a digital to analogue converter - preferably external with adjustable levels for sound quality reasons -
Suitable Cabling -
Sound Recording and Editing Software There are several all in one turntables which offer a USB output for direct connection to your PC on the market and they are quite convenient. Unfortunately that is about all they are, as the sound quality is often very disappointing. We put this bundle together to provide the same sort of convenience but with real HiFi quality into the bargain. Sound quality from a good quality turntable can be as good or better than from CD - that's why its important to use as good a turntable as possible to do your transfers. This package includes: -
Pro-ject Debut Mk3 TurntableAward winning manual turntable from Pro-Ject Audio. Great sound quality and includes an Ortofon OM5e cartridge. For more information about the Pro-Ject Debut Mk3 go here. The standard Debut has a matt black finish but is also available in blue, green, red, yellow, silver, white (see Digitise Your Vinyl Colour Bundle) and with upgraded stylus options - see below. -
ARTcessories USB Phono Plus - Phono Preamplifier and External USB Soundcard Combined
A Combined Phono Preamplifier and external soundcard with a USB output for direct connection to your PC. In addition it can be connected to your amp or stereo system. It can be used to convert tape or radio to digital as well and has a level control which you will find invaluable for good quality transfers. We think this is a superb piece of kit. Great sound quality, feature packed and very flexible. For more information on this unit, go here. If you are unsure about spending that little bit extra on a setup like this to guarantee good quality transfers, remember recording vinyl to digital is a more time consuming activity than burning CDs, because they have to be recorded in real time. If you recorded a large number of albums only to realise that the sound quality you were getting was a disappointment, it would be doubly frustrating to realise how much time may have been wasted doing it. Best to get it right first time. All together this bundle is worth £316.95 Bundle Price £281.95 - A saving of £35
